Trails lead into the redwoods from a tranquil area. Because there are houses between the woods and the roadway, it is safe to let your dog off the leash. Many dogs will be off leash, however mountain bikers should be avoided.

Hiller Park

This is a town park where dogs are free to run and play. It features a huge open area as well as wooded walks that often lead to wonderful seaside views. Three of the pathways go to a tiny river that runs parallel to the ocean beach, although the ascent is quite difficult. Friendly dogs are welcome everywhere except the fenced-in children's playground, which is open all year. A paved bike/walk route is also available, where dogs on leash are welcome.
