Once the ski-joring paths have been groomed, off-leash activity will be limited to the specified area. The Alaska Railroad runs all year, with seasonal schedules varying: the busy summer season runs from mid-May to mid-September, while the quieter winter timetable runs from mid-September to mid-May. Pets are only allowed onboard in the baggage compartment and must be in a kennel that has been certified by the airline. When disembarking at the Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop, kennels can be left adjacent to the train and picked up when you return.
