Black Creek Park (immediately off Highway 31) — This magnificent park, with its stunning trees, pathways, and babbling creek, is home to our residents' softball fields, two batting cages, and recreational and church leagues. A one-mile walking path is encircled by a tiny brook that runs alongside it. Everyone can enjoy the area because it is well-lit and safe. There are constantly a number of people walking and jogging around the track, as well as those who simply want to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature while having a picnic in the park. A pavilion with tables that seats 100 people or more is offered for family reunions and company picnics.

Bridge Street Town Centre is a pet-friendly outdoor shopping mall. Dog-friendly establishments are plainly displayed on the front doors; nevertheless, not all establishments welcome dogs. During their visit, dogs must be leashed. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Bridge Street Town Centre is open.

Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Academy Sports Outdoors is open.

175. Richard Martin Trail

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a countrywide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Richard Martin Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an underused railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Fido in Elkmont! A parking lot with easy access to the Richard Martin Trail is shown on the map below.

Mill Creek Dog Park is a 1.43-acre fenced park that runs parallel to the Mill Creek Greenway. It is separated into three sections. The 20-foot-by-30-foot staging area at the park's entrance allows dog owners to let their pets loose before allowing them inside the play areas. The play spaces are divided into two sections: one for tiny dogs weighing less than 25 pounds and another for larger dogs weighing more than 25 pounds. Both pets and humans have access to drinking water, as well as garbage cans and dog waste bag dispensers. There are many shade trees in the region, as well as gently undulating grassy meadows.

Near Indian Creek Greenway is Dog Spot in Creekwood Park. Huntsville has a number of off-leash doggy play facilities known as "Dog Spots." Each is about the size of two football fields and was built with dog safety in mind, including a separate play area for dogs under 25 pounds. Unless otherwise noted, Dog Spots are open to dogs and their owners during standard park hours, which are from sunrise to one hour after dusk.

Tractor Supply Co. welcomes pets. Dogs are welcome to accompany their owners along this DIY chain as long as they are leashed and well-behaved. Bring your dog along to assist you in the search for a new wheelbarrow, buckets, feed, and other necessities. A dog wash is also available at this location. Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tractor Supply Co. is open.

179. Bald Rock Boardwalk at Cheaha State Park

A shorter journey through a canopy adorned with lovely wildflowers may be found on the Bald Rock Boardwalk in Cheaha State Park. This half-mile loop is suitable for dogs of all ages and skills. The view from the summit is the icing on the cake. Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout their stay, and any mess they make must be cleaned up. The Doug Ghee Accessible Trail to Bald Rock is easily accessible from Cheaha State Park's main road. The 1,520-foot elevated boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and has ample sand benches. Just off the boardwalk, there are a number of side routes to choose from. Some of these trails run parallel to the elevated boardwalk, while others lead to the park's wilder areas.

Make a pit stop along the route and treat your family to an exclusive tour of Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR's most competitive racing track. Stock cars, open wheel, NHRA, road racing, modified, motorcycles, and many other classic vehicles will appeal to history aficionados. On a leash, well-behaved dogs are invited to accompany you to the displays. They are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week.
