Animal Shelters

Approximately 710,000 strays who enter shelters are reunited with their owners. Only 90,000 of them are cats, and 620,000 of them are dogs.

We are a Wisconsin-based private non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare. Almost 800 animals are housed in a warm, secure environment by OCHS every year. Every day, we care for close to 100 animals at the adoption center. We are committed to enhancing the wellbeing of animals in Oneida County.

The mission of the shelter is to "be a No-Kill shelter and place of safety for all animals, to provide our community with good, healthy, adoptable animals, and to strive to maintain maximum animal control through education, training, and a spay and neuter policy. No-kill shall be defined as a non-euthanization of all animals that are deemed healthy, treatable medically, and behavioral trainable. Boxers are accepted by Green Acres Boxer Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, from all parts of Wisconsin. Since our organization's founding in 1999, we have aided well over 1000 canines.

When concerned residents realized Marshfield needed an animal sanctuary, MAPS was established in 2011. They put in a lot of effort to spread the word about their cause. To garner support, they participated in parades, sat at fair booths, served brat fries, and went to every local event they could.

HSWC is a nonprofit organization that promotes compassion and caring by improving the lives of both people and animals via companion animal care and humane education.

The Humane Society of Sheboygan County has been committed to preventing animal cruelty, alleviating animal suffering, and promoting humane education since its founding in 1964. We are the only open admissions shelter in Sheboygan County. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we provide care for more than 3,000 homeless animals each year.

WHS cares for 40,000 animals per year. We are not a part of any national umbrella group and do not get general government financing. WHS provides the following specialized services as the biggest shelter in the state of Wisconsin:

The mission of KAHR is to enhance the welfare of the animals residing on the Menominee Indian Reservation in Keshena, Wisconsin. Our goal is to help pet owners give their animals a secure, loving home through support and education.

The Wisconsin Humane Society is dedicated to giving wild and abandoned animals shelter, care, and protection. They are able to rescue, rehab, and rehome thousands of animals every year like me thanks to kind supporters like you!
