1. Compassion for canines

Compassion For Canines is a foster-based rescue group that works to help stray canines in North Eastern North Carolina and South Eastern Virginia. On request, you can meet any of our pets that have been placed in foster homes.

The Isle of Wight County Sheriff's Office is responsible for overseeing and staffing the Isle of Wight County Animal Services and related Animal Control operations.

3. Bertie County Humane Society

A 501c3 Non-Profit Organization, Bertie County Humane Society (Roanoke Chowan Humane Society) is made up of volunteers who operate out of our county death shelter.

Animal welfare is the focus of Connecticut Cat Connection, a nonprofit with a "No-Kill" stance (with medical exceptions).

5. Windsor Animal Shelter

All adoptable animals are given top priority by East Windsor Animal Control when finding them new homes.

6. Big Bones Canine Rescue

Big Bones Canine Rescue Service, Inc. was established by Kristie Fisher in 2012 as a tiny rescue operation led by a single person with a great passion for assisting dogs in need.

We are a multi-purpose organization that promotes animal welfare; we offer dog training courses in the hopes of educating pet owners on fundamental dog training to help prevent animal surrender and promote lifetime commitments from owners to their pets.
