Providing refuge and treatment for animals in need is part of Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals' (NiSHA) purpose. It also aims to advance animal welfare via humane education, outreach programs, and advocacy.

We offer exceptional field, adoption, and veterinary services. Through specialized police investigations and advocacy efforts targeted at bolstering the laws that protect animals, we also address the underlying causes of animal cruelty and neglect.

The magnificent creatures of lower Cape Cod are supported by the Carrie A. Seaman Animal Shelter, a no-kill facility. All of our staff members are volunteers, and donations and fundraising activities provide all of the money for our shelter.

Families in need can receive subsidized, inexpensive, urgent veterinarian treatment at our community clinic.
