The 1984-founded Vashon Island Pet Protectors organization works tirelessly to enhance the standard of living for pets on the island. Vashon Island Pet Protectors, sometimes known as "VIPP," is a no-kill, nonprofit 501c3 animal rescue group staffed by caring and animal-loving volunteers. On Vashon Island, VIPP provides the best resource for connecting humans and animals in a variety of ways.

CHEW Dog Rescue

CHEW Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer group committed to saving dogs who have been abandoned, are in danger of being put to sleep because there isn't enough room in the shelter, and other pets in need. In the ten years since CHEW was founded as a dog rescue group, we have saved and rescued 1,315 canines. To aid more dogs in need, we are constantly looking for more foster homes and money for other crucial aspects of dog rescue.
