CHEW Dog Rescue

The 1984-founded Vashon Island Pet Protectors organization works tirelessly to enhance the standard of living for pets on the island. Vashon Island Pet Protectors, sometimes known as "VIPP," is a no-kill, nonprofit 501c3 animal rescue group staffed by caring and animal-loving volunteers. On Vashon Island, VIPP provides the best resource for connecting humans and animals in a variety of ways.

The Humane Society of Mason County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the spaying and neutering of companion animals as well as wild cats. All of the adoptable animals from HSMC are in foster homes.

A small group of concerned residents established The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County, which has now evolved to become one of the biggest animal protection organizations in the state. Every year, we provide care for almost 10,000 animals, help thousands of lost animals find their owners, treat sick and injured shelter animals, and administer extensive, affordable spay-neuter programs.
