For abandoned animals to heal, socialize, and receive the medical attention they require to recover and be prepared to enter a new home and family, California Paws Rescue offers a safe, secure, and loving environment. Our rescue has saved more than 1,500 animals since 2011.

The only public shelter in the Coachella Valley that adheres to the no-kill concept is Palm Springs Animal Shelter. Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, a 501(c)(3) organization (TAX ID 33-0731853) committed to responsible pet stewardship and the humane treatment of animals, manages and runs our facility.

An all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization called Kittyland is committed to saving neglected and abandoned cats. We are a sanctuary where senior, disabled, and unwanted cats are valued and can live out their lives in dignity and peace. We also provide kittens and cats with compassionate care in a secure environment.
