Animal Samaritans has a compassionate and respectful attitude toward all living things and believes that animal-human relationships have the power to heal. However, they place a special emphasis on dogs, cats, and the people who care for them.

The only public shelter in the Coachella Valley that adheres to the no-kill concept is Palm Springs Animal Shelter. Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, a 501(c)(3) organization (TAX ID 33-0731853) committed to responsible pet stewardship and the humane treatment of animals, manages and runs our facility.

An all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization called Kittyland is committed to saving neglected and abandoned cats. We are a sanctuary where senior, disabled, and unwanted cats are valued and can live out their lives in dignity and peace. We also provide kittens and cats with compassionate care in a secure environment.

They get medical care while in our custody, including full vetting, spaying/neutering, and chipping. Most importantly, we provide them with food, safety, love, and emotional support.
