Only dogs from within the confines of Sawyer County are accepted at the dog pound. Before delivering a stray dog, kindly check with the pound to see if there is room.

The goal of The Humane Society of Burnett County, Inc. is to prevent pet overpopulation by encouraging responsible pet ownership, providing a safe home for abandoned or unwanted animals, and fostering the human-animal link.

Our mission is to offer a safe haven for abandoned or unwanted animals, to promote responsible pet ownership, to nurture the human-animal link, and to prevent pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering.

The Northwoods Humane Society (NHS) was founded with the purpose of giving abandoned animals a safe haven. NHS will endeavor to place animals in suitable homes, offer medical attention as necessary, and work to socialize and train them to be more successful in a household environment.

The Rusk County Animal Shelter is a full-service facility that serves Wisconsin's Rusk County. Until they can be reunited with their owners or adopted by new families, we shelter stray and unwanted domestic animals and offer supportive care.

For the past 18 years, the Barefoot Crow Animal Rescue has taken in all kinds of domestic animals. To mention a few of the animals we accept include horses, barn cats, dogs, potbelly pigs, goats, lambs, alpacas, and llamas.
