Animal Refuge Foundation

Since 1990, the Sherman Animal Shelter has collaborated with the neighborhood to aid in the return of stray animals to their owners and the placement of unwanted animals. We take in a lot of animals throughout the year, including stray animals and pets whose owners have given up.

A nonprofit's support from the community determines how strong it is. We can accomplish more as a group than we can separately. Let's combine our skills and interests to create lasting change.

DAWG is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to the rescue, treatment, and re-homing of animals in need. DAWG was founded in that year.

The mission of DAWG is to save the stray animals in Denison, Texas. In our first three years of operation, we are pleased to have achieved a 99% live release rate. Every day, volunteers make a difference by collaborating with the City of Denison and the local community.

The City of Denison's Animal Services Division is dedicated to working in collaboration with locals, vets, and animal welfare groups to promote responsible pet ownership, deliver top-notch services for animal health and welfare, and safeguard public health.
