Animal Shelter

Concho Valley PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) is committed to the goals of saving homeless animals from euthanasia, finding adoptive homes for pets, and raising public knowledge of spay and neuter procedures to reduce the number of stray animals.

The group, which is supported by contributions, fund-raisers, adoptions, and grants, has been successful in saving a large number of suitable animals. The goal of fewer homeless animals needing rescue is furthered by the fact that all of the animals up for adoption are spayed/neutered/vaccinated.

The Abilene Animal Shelter and the city of Abilene's animal control initiatives will be run under new administration in the new year.

At the Animal Shelter, we put a lot of effort into trying to find homes for dogs and cats. We think that every animal deserves to be loved and cared for by a family. Please think about adopting an animal as opposed to buying one from a breeder.
