Rutherford Animal Shelter

Animal rescue organization Heart of the Foothills is a place for fresh starts. In Rutherford County, North Carolina, we provide a safe sanctuary for stray animals while establishing a no-kill neighborhood.

The private 501(c)3 no-kill animal welfare organization Foothills Humane Society (FHS) is situated on eleven acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Polk County, North Carolina.

Cleveland County Animal Control refers animals to Hope's Chest Inc., a non-profit organization in Cleveland County, North Carolina, for a variety of vital veterinarian and allied services.

The Animal Shelter is governed by the Public Works Department. The shelter takes in unwanted or stray animals and acts as an adoption center for those that can be adopted.
