To offer support and knowledge to those whose goals are similar to those of Rutherford County Animal Control Services

The private 501(c)3 no-kill animal welfare organization Foothills Humane Society (FHS) is situated on eleven acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Polk County, North Carolina.

The Animal Shelter is governed by the Public Works Department. The shelter takes in unwanted or stray animals and acts as an adoption center for those that can be adopted.

Through adoption, outreach, and education, we are committed to providing the highest standard of living for animals in Henderson County and our adjacent areas. We picture a neighborhood that values providing animals with the best possible protection, compassion, and quality of life.

Cleveland County Animal Control refers animals to Hope's Chest Inc., a non-profit organization in Cleveland County, North Carolina, for a variety of vital veterinarian and allied services.
