North Woods Animal Shelter

Volunteers cleaned and painted extensively, added dog and cat cages, and built a sizable outside dog run to improve the living conditions for the animals. Along with daily cleaning, the volunteers give the animals exercise, grooming, and basic medical attention.

The County Sheriff's Office ran this shelter until August 2011, when budget shortages made it necessary to permanently close the facility. The Delta Area Animal Society, a group of animal enthusiasts, took over the business to stop it from closing permanently.
