Orange County Animal Shelter

A 450-acre, no-kill, quiet sanctuary for all animals, Rikki's Refuge is maintained only by donations from kind and caring people. It is located in Orange County, Virginia.

Early in 2016, Bobbie's Pit Bull Rescue & Sanctuary (BPRS) was established only for charity and educational goals. Our goal is to rescue "bully breed" dogs, such as American Pit Bull Terriers, Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Bullies, American Bulldogs, and mixes thereof, rehabilitate them, and finally find them permanent homes. We also work with the regional county animal control and shelters to facilitate adoptions.

The goal of the Department of Animal Services is to educate the public about the dangers of rabies, current animal laws, animal care, animal population control, and proper animal care while also providing efficient and effective animal control and shelter services to the residents of Culpeper County.

Every county in Virginia is obligated to keep a location for the short-term impoundment of companion animals that have been seized by animal control officials or left by their owners. This location is known as our Animal Shelter in Madison.

The Orange County Humane Society is a 501(c)3 charity, no-kill organization with the mission of rescuing and enhancing the lives of local animals. We are dedicated to helping animals in need, educating the public, and spreading the word about how critical it is to end animal abuse and abandonment.

The Culpeper Humane Society is an all-volunteer, home-based, 501c3 dog and cat rescue organization with the goal of creating a No-Kill Community. Through creative initiatives created to support such strategies, our goal is to decrease the amount of shelter that is taken in and increase the amount that is taken out.
