The League for Animal Rescue in Jasper County & Humane Society is a no-kill facility dedicated to saving animals and giving all animals in Jasper County a secure haven.

We transform lives at PALS, a no-kill animal sanctuary located just south of Grinnell, Iowa. We give abandoned cats and dogs a somewhere to stay and veterinary treatment, and we place them with people and families who will enjoy their company, spontaneity, and delight.

Our goal is to care for stray animals humanely and either give them back to their owners or find them new, devoted homes. Additionally, we'll inform the public about the value of spaying and neutering pets and responsible pet ownership.

Through its programs, which include pet adoption, humane education, pet behavior training, spay/neuter, animal cruelty intervention, and more, the ARL assists people and animals from all over the state of Iowa.

The City of Des Moines has a contract with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa's division ARL Animal Services to provide animal control services for every neighborhood inside the city's boundaries.

We save injured, disabled, sick, abused, pregnant, nursing, orphaned, bottle-fed animals, as well as pets with serious medical conditions.
