Marion County Animal Shelter

The Florence Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit charitable organization that was established in 1974 to rescue and care for animals that have been abandoned, mistreated, or neglected in the Florence neighborhood.

As soon as a permanent, loving "forever" home can be located, provide temporary care and lodging for any animals that were misplaced, abandoned, abused, or in need of medical attention.

The Florence Area Humane Society recruits volunteers for daily assistance, foster homes, food and treats, kennels, and a variety of other services, while the City of Florence owns and manages the shelter.
