Our mission is to implement the no kill concept and turn Blount County into a community that saves animals from shelters.

The Humane Society of Tennessee Valley has been caring for animals since 1885, making it the state's oldest animal shelter.

Nationwide, 6 million dogs and cats are brought into shelters each year. About half of them will be put to death due to a lack of resources rather than illness or aggression problems.

Since November 2009, the Blount County Animal Shelter, which is a part of the Blount County Animal Center Complex, has been ensuring the welfare of both animals and people in Blount County, Tennessee.
