Purple Power Animal Welfare Society

An all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal rescue group committed to animal welfare, the Riley County Humane Society was founded in January 1975. No national animal welfare organization, United Way, or the government ever give us money.

To offer the neighborhood's animals expert animal services. We work hard to encourage responsible pet ownership and animal management in our neighborhood and to teach in the public a proper respect for the welfare of all animals.

We help the people of Fort Riley find their missing pets and place abandoned and unclaimed animals for adoption.

We are a city-run animal shelter that helps the public with stray turn-ins and surrenders from our area when space permits. To deal with the stray cat populations in our esteemed cities, we have three TNR programs. Outside our building, we have a pet pantry where customers can get supplies as needed.

A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization run entirely by volunteers, Clay County Animal Rescue & Education Center (CCARE) is committed to saving, fostering, and placing homeless dogs in loving and responsible forever homes.
