Other tiny companion animals including gerbils, guinea pigs, birds, and rabbits are also brought to the institution. Depending on their type, these little companion animals need particular care and frequently need to see a veterinarian.

SCA is a non-profit group that serves as a community resource for cats. Our organization's goal is to provide trap-neuter-return (TNR) services, education, outreach, and rescue services for feral cats in Stafford, Fredericksburg, and Spotsylvania, Virginia.

NOVA has a local, non-profit, no-kill rescue that is dedicated to helping cats and kittens find loving homes.

A non-profit 501(c)(3) group called Homeward Trails Animal Rescue offers pet adoption in the states of Virginia, Washington, DC, and Maryland. We find homes for dogs and cats rescued from low-income, rural animal shelters or whose owners can no longer care for them; abandoned hunting dogs who are dumped in woods or left at shelters; owned pets whose owners can no longer care for them; and animals who have been injured, abused and neglected.

The Humane Society of Fairfax County, Inc.'s objective is to advance humane education, stop all forms of animal abuse, both domestic and wild, by all legal means, and help the local community with any issues involving the welfare of animals.
