Lancaster County Animal Shelter

The Lancaster South Carolina Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LSPCA), a nonprofit animal rescue group, was established in 2013 and is wholly supported by private donors and business sponsors.

Our goal is obvious. to save adoptable animals from high-kill shelters that are about to be put to death. They may have been dumped off by the side of a cold, dark road, lost, or picked up by shelter staff for a variety of reasons, including abuse, homelessness, or abandonment.

Our goals include preventing animal suffering, encouraging spaying and neutering to reduce animal overpopulation, educating the public about animal care, and finding forever homes for adoptable animals.

We are a team of volunteers that banded together in 2012 and saved over 250 cats from an ineffective rescue.

You and your family can choose from a broad selection of possible pets at our shelter. The majority of our animals are either stray animals or pets that their owners no longer wanted to care for. The affordable cost of spaying and neutering as well as the confidence that your new pet has already gotten initial vaccines against contagious diseases are just two of the numerous advantages of adopting from our County Animal Shelter.

The York, South Carolina-based non-profit organization Richardson Rescue is devoted to upholding the value of all living things. We work to equip owners with a better understanding of pet care, prevent pet neglect and abuse, and provide a reduced cost spay/neuter program for those who cannot afford it, all while striving to find a permanent home for every pet that comes to us. 501C3-designated Richardson Animal Rescue is a publicly supported, non-profit organization.
