SPCA Florida Adoption Center

Our goal is to find abandoned cats and dogs in the Polk/Hillsborough County area temporary and occasionally permanent homes.

An organization classified as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit is The Humane Society of Polk County. Our organization was incorporated in 1972, and the first Sage Road shelter was constructed in 1980.

The Hillsborough County Pet Resources Department houses abandoned, mistreated, and surrendered animals, helps reunite them with their owners, facilitates animal adoptions, offers affordable spay and neuter services, and issues rabies tags and pet registration.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, works separately from the Humane Society of the United States and offers adoptions, hospital care, and TNVR services to the general public.

C.A.R.E. founded a tiny, 3-acre shelter in Ruskin in 2001 with the goal of rescuing, rehabilitating, and adopting stray and owner-returned animals.
