Teton County Animal Shelter

The Jackson-Teton County Animal Shelter cares for lost and abandoned pets humanely and helps them find new homes. The Shelter helps the community by informing the public about ethical pet ownership and enforcing animal laws, such as those requiring licenses.

2019 was the 15th anniversary of our organization, and because of YOU, we have been able to improve the lives of over 15,000 animals and counting. Without the support of our fantastic supporters—near, far, big, small, and everywhere in between—we could not carry out our life-saving work.

Every year, Lucky's Place places roughly 300–350 abandoned and unwanted pets in loving forever homes. Each adopted pet has undergone spaying or neutering, vaccinations, deworming, a vet check, and the dogs receive microchipping.

We are a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), animal sanctuary and rescue. Along with acting independently to save lives, we work with the city of Lander to provide a safe haven for stray and found dogs.

For whatever reason, animals that have lost their family frequently form strong bonds with new, loving families very quickly. With the right care and attention, the majority of animals who leave abusive homes usually have a complete emotional recovery. These animals have the potential to develop into being just as devoted and loyal as those who have not experienced abuse. Strays and "seniors" also adjust well to their new surroundings and are appreciative of it. Animal rescue groups devote a lot of time to caring for and getting to know the animals. The animals receive instruction, medical attention, rehabilitation, food, housing, and, most importantly, compassion. These initiatives make choosing to adopt a rescue animal when seeking for a pet desirable.
