Bath County Animal Shelter

Since 2002, devoted BAWF volunteers have given Bath County's homeless companion animals a home and support.

Throughout the year, the sanctuary offers a home to countless animals (both abused and homeless). They receive excellent care while waiting to be placed in safe homes. The animals are gently and mercifully put to death if they are ill, seriously damaged, or unadoptable.

Through collaborative interaction with Highland County, Virginia, its residents, and other like-minded organizations in the area, we are a private, foster-based, non-profit organization committed to promoting health, safety, welfare, compassionate care, and protection of animals.

The Roanoke Valley is home to the non-profit, no-kill League for Animal Protection (LAP). In order to help them find their forever homes, our volunteers and supporters rescue and care for abandoned dogs and cats.

Through leadership and pro-active approaches to reducing pet overpopulation, like as adoptions, spay/neuter programs, and education, the Augusta Regional SPCA promotes the humane treatment of companion animals.

The municipal animal shelter with open admission serving Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County is called Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center. All stray, abandoned, and owner-surrendered animals from these areas are taken in by us.
