The Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance is in charge of running the Allegan County Animal Shelter.

The goal of Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance is to provide permanent, loving homes for animals who are in need while also reducing their pain and suffering by giving them refuge and veterinary care.

Dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens are frequently taken in by Headin' Home Pet Rescue. Other animals who occasionally save the day include bunnies and guinea pigs. We work to support both animals whose families are no longer able to care for them and those who come from other shelters that are already at capacity.

Our goal is to work with other groups to provide a No Kill community while also guaranteeing adoption for owner-surrendered companion animals.

Founded in 1956 as Ottawa Shores Humane Society, Harbor Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter in West Olive, Michigan. For more than 50 years, we have been helping our west Michigan community and beyond, and we currently have the municipal contract for Ottawa County. Every year, on average, more than 3,500 animals come into our facility as strays, animals that have been transferred in, and owner surrenders.
