Founded in 1956 as Ottawa Shores Humane Society, Harbor Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter in West Olive, Michigan. For more than 50 years, we have been helping our west Michigan community and beyond, and we currently have the municipal contract for Ottawa County. Every year, on average, more than 3,500 animals come into our facility as strays, animals that have been transferred in, and owner surrenders.

We work to support both animals whose families are no longer able to care for them and those who come from other shelters that are already at capacity.
