A no-kill policy gives stray animals a chance to find loving homes and live out their lives at the Riverbend Animal Shelter, run by the charitable organization The Riverbend Humane Society, which is located just south of Jerseyville.

Ten dedicated volunteers who were convinced that southern Illinois needed a no-kill animal shelter founded the APA in Granite City in March of 1972.

The Metro East Humane Society's objective is to enhance animal welfare in the St. Louis Metro East by offering high-quality services for animals, such as adoptions, advocacy, and preventative measures.

We believe we can help one breed better if we concentrate our efforts, which is why Metro East Lab Rescue only helps Labs. But as we adore all canines and felines, we frequently have a number of non-labs and a number of cats in need of loving homes.

We're getting ready once more with the intention of cleaning out our shelter by Thanksgiving! This holiday-themed extension of our year-round Slumber Pawty Dog Program encourages families to foster dogs, giving them a much-needed vacation from the stress of the shelter while they are at home.
