POPE COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY

The Lakes Area Humane Society (LAHS) was founded in 1989 by a group of concerned residents who wanted to improve the lives of animals in our neighborhood. LAHS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

The Humane Society of Kandiyohi & Meeker Counties holds that the relationship between people and animals is special and reciprocal, and that this relationship can have a significant and good impact on society. Due to this conviction, we offer a secure haven for lost and abandoned animals while they wait to be placed in a suitable permanent home.

Through educating and raising awareness among the general public, we also encourage ethical pet ownership and training.

Until a new home is found, we are committed to offering a secure environment for domestic cats and dogs. We are devoted to encouraging wise pet ownership.

Our goal is to help homeless animals find loving homes by educating the public and raising its awareness of their plight.

All seniors are welcome to get hospice and rescue care from us. We feel that all seniors deserve a second opportunity and do not discriminate against any breeds, illnesses, manners, or past.
