In regards to responsible pet ownership, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Animal Service Division offers services to county residents. Animal welfare, cruelty, neglect, and rabies enforcement are all regulated by the Animal Service Officers under NC State law and Forsyth County ordinances. To ensure the happiness and safety of our furry friends, we also collaborate with numerous animal welfare organizations.

The goal of the Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation (AARF) is to enhance the lives of dogs and cats while fostering the relationship between people and animals.

Forsyth County is resuming control of the cats and dogs at the County Shelter on April 1st, as Forsyth County Manager Dudley Watts said in a media release yesterday at 4:25pm.

The 501(3)(c) non-profit organization Labrador Rescue of North Carolina, Inc. is run entirely by volunteers and is dedicated to helping neglected, unloved, or abandoned purebred Labrador Retrievers find loving homes.
