It was the tremendous love and care of volunteers working at local shelters who realized they could do more and took action that led to the creation of Save Pound Animals thru Rescue & Education.

Until permanent adoptive homes are found, ZZY CATS saves as many furry friends as we can, treats them medically, and places them in caring foster homes. We are a completely volunteer-run company that only receives funding from charitable contributions from the general public.

Animals should be given legal, moral, and ethical respect and protection because we feel they have value that goes beyond economic consideration.

Early in 1998, Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc. was founded. Since that time, we have expanded from the original seven volunteer members to approximately 150 volunteers who help Labrador Retrievers in need all around Southern California.

Because disabled dogs are the first to be put to death, we rescue from high-kill shelters and collaborate with a network of rescue organizations.
