The Animal Welfare League of Frederick County (AWLFC) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to animal welfare and rescue.

Our goal is to remove older hounds from shelters who have been abandoned or are in risk of being put to death. Most of the dogs we accept are basset hounds, beagles, and mixes who are 10 years of age or older. Our dogs have an average age of 12 years.

Wags to Riches is a dog rescue and rehabilitation organization that specializes in finding forever homes for dogs in need from communities with high rates of animal abuse and abandonment.
