El Dorado Animal Sanctuary

We are a municipally administered animal shelter with open admissions. San Juan County has a contract with the City of Farmington, which operates the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter, to provide secure lodging for their animals. We are a member of Farmington's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs.

Aztec Animal Shelter is based in Aztec, New Mexico. They provide temporary housing and care for stray, unwanted, and owner-relinquished animals, including dogs and cats in San Juan County. 

Look into reports of bites, livestock damage, obtrusive calls, and animal mistreatment.

Every month, the McKinley County Humane Society accepts more than 500 dogs and cats from within the city-county boundaries as well as from remote Indian reservations. It is preferable to go to the shelter in person to meet your new pet if you are looking for one because internet listings might not be accurate. All adopted animals are spayed or neutered before being made available for adoption. The McKinley County Humane Society sees a time where all animals have loving, permanent homes and are safe in both human and animal communities.

Services for animal control are offered in collaboration with the Gallup-McKinley County Humane Society. The Gallup city code's animal control laws are administered by the Animal Control division.

The only facility in west-central New Mexico that provides shelter and care for stray and homeless animals is the McKinley County Humane Society.
