Effingham County Humane Society - IL

"Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary, also known as EARS, was founded in January 2010 by dedicated volunteers who thought that raising awareness of responsible pet ownership would help to reduce the number of animals put to death in our neighborhood.

Animal control for Clay County was outsourced out to non-profit 501c3 Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter (CCARS). Although it doesn't even pay the entire cost of maintaining animal control, the animal control contract is well-known "money loser" in Clay County.

Our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization's mission is to rescue abused, neglected, and abandoned animals in and around Jasper County and place them in a secure foster home until a permanent home can be found.

All animals are loved and deserving of a good existence. They are members of the family, not a pet!

We uphold Coles County's Animal Control Ordinances and the Illinois State Animal Control Act thanks to funding from county taxpayers. Our facility is home to animals awaiting adoption or owner claim.

Bond County Humane Society provides temporary shelter for homeless dogs and cats until a loving, long-term home can be found for them.
