E.A.R.S. Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary

The Effingham County Humane Society's mission is to lessen animal suffering in our community by encouraging responsible pet ownership, which includes spaying and neutering pets, proper pet identification, good pet care, and the high-quality adoption of stray animals.

Our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization's mission is to rescue abused, neglected, and abandoned animals in and around Jasper County and place them in a secure foster home until a permanent home can be found.

Animal control for Clay County was outsourced out to non-profit 501c3 Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter (CCARS). Although it doesn't even pay the entire cost of maintaining animal control, the animal control contract is well-known "money loser" in Clay County.

We uphold Coles County's Animal Control Ordinances and the Illinois State Animal Control Act thanks to funding from county taxpayers. Our facility is home to animals awaiting adoption or owner claim.

All animals are loved and deserving of a good existence. They are members of the family, not a pet!

The Humane Society Serving Crawford County is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to protect all animals and enhance animal welfare.
