Conroe Animal Shelter

We at MCAS are committed to mobilizing the minds, hands, and hearts of the neighborhood to support animals in Montgomery County. We are therefore committed to providing the animals in our shelter with humane, effective, and high-quality care.

The Conroe Animal Shelter's volunteer, foster, transport, and rescue programs are coordinated by The Animal Shelter Volunteers of Texas (ASVT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 2010.

In order to find homes for undesirable dogs that had ended up in local shelters, Pure Mutts Animal Sanctuary was established. canines with specific requirements, elderly dogs, or dogs in hospice care.

Austin Brisco and a group of skilled wolf and dog rescuers established the Texas Wolfdog Project & Shelter in June 2013 after realizing the need for a facility where wolfdogs and other special-needs dogs could be rescued, treated, and then placed in suitable homes or sanctuaries based on their personalities. Austin's experience rescuing his own Wolfdog Timber, whose tale you can read here, served as the idea for starting Texas Wolfdog Project & Shelter.

The goal of AAR is to prevent pet overpopulation, which leads to the euthanasia of unwanted cats and dogs. We achieve this by offering a rescue and adoption facility, highlighting the value of spaying and neutering, and providing information on responsible pet ownership.

Founded in 1994 by Dr. Beverly Harper, PhD, MPH, who saw the need for a secure location where Houston's abandoned cats may rest their aching paws while they awaited the arrival of their chosen families.
