The Animal Adoption Center of Blount County is here to help the county with its needs for reducing the number of stray, unwanted, and abandoned animals. Our mission is to pair animals with loving homes, primarily but not exclusively dogs and cats. To stop overpopulation, we advocate for the spaying and neutering of companion animals. We also work to inform county residents about how to properly care for their pets. Any Blount County person who has an animal is welcome to bring it to the shelter.

Sen. Malone fought for the creation of equitable and sufficient animal sheltering facilities for all communities through legislation that was passed on behalf of the state's animal shelters.
