Butte Humane Society Cat Adoption Center

We have been providing dogs, cats, and other animals with humanitarian care since 1911, making us one of Butte County, California's oldest non-profit organizations. We are a Limited Admission shelter that makes every effort to give our animals the most comfortable stay possible.

501(c)(3) non-profit Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue was established in August 2015 and is an all-breed, NO KILL, animal rescue group. We are an animal rescue organization run entirely by volunteers, and we have many years of expertise.

Our goal is to protect and provide for stray cats.

Our goal is to aid people's animals during natural disasters.

The animal shelter, which is located at 2579 Fair St. in Chico, is owned and run by the City of Chico. A division of the Chico Police Department is the Chico Animal Shelter. The shelter, which is a component of Animal Services, accepts sick and injured cats as well as abandoned and stray canines from the incorporated areas of the City of Chico.
