Finding secure and devoted homes for the animals in our care is something we at AARF are proud to do.

In order to care for and protect canine animals, whether wild or domestic, in the local and surrounding areas of Greenup County, Christine Berkley founded the AWLGC as a non-profit organization in 1975.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit, "no-kill" animal refuge called The Trixie Foundation is tucked away in the eastern Appalachian foothills of Kentucky.

The Lawrence County Humane Society is the organization that owns and runs the animal shelter. Founded in 1995 with the goals of reducing animal suffering, eliminating cruelty to animals, and promoting humane education.

Offers temporary housing and care for stray, unwanted, and owner-rendered pets in Lewis County, including dogs and cats. The Lewis County Animal Shelter may also provide a wide range of extra services.

A zero-euthanasia standard is what we strive for at Tri-County Animal Shelter. We rely on you, the general public, to assist us in achieving this goal by spaying and neutering your pets and by immunizing your puppies and kittens.
