Animal Control and the Animal Shelter are both parts of North Little Rock Animal Services. Animal Services looks after abandoned animals and avoids potentially hazardous wildlife-human interactions to ensure the health and welfare of both city residents and animals.

Volunteers at the Valdez Animal Shelter improve the lives of numerous dogs, cats, and other four-legged animals. You take dogs for walks, groom cats, assist with cleaning the shelter, donate your time and skills to numerous fund-raising initiatives, assist in finding homes for numerous homeless animals, among many other equally significant deeds of compassion.

9. Ketchikan Humane Society
A tax-exempt, nonprofit organization, the Ketchikan Humane Society is committed to giving mistreated, neglected, and abandoned animals a second opportunity in a caring permanent home. Our group is entirely volunteer-run. We have private foster homes for all of our animals.

The Animal Protection Director is in charge of organizing, planning, and managing all aspects of the animal shelter's activities, as well as managing all departmental staff. The Director is also in charge of carrying out the animal protection-related laws of the code of ordinances.
