Ketchikan Animal Protection

A tax-exempt, nonprofit organization, the Ketchikan Humane Society is committed to giving mistreated, neglected, and abandoned animals a second opportunity in a caring permanent home. Our group is entirely volunteer-run. We have private foster homes for all of our animals.

We are a non-profit organization with federal recognition that is primarily supported by membership fees and individual donations. The organization is run by a board of directors made up of nine people, and its executive director is in charge of day-to-day operations.

Volunteers at the Valdez Animal Shelter improve the lives of numerous dogs, cats, and other four-legged animals. You take dogs for walks, groom cats, assist with cleaning the shelter, donate your time and skills to numerous fund-raising initiatives, assist in finding homes for numerous homeless animals, among many other equally significant deeds of compassion.
