Dr. Mary K. Klein and Dr. Reuben Merideth launched the Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (SAVS) in 1994. Tucson lacked a multi-specialty veterinary group for patients with various or complicated needs at the time. Pet owners were forced to travel between multiple veterinary facilities to care for their animals as a result. The mission of SAVS was to provide excellent veterinarian care to local pet owners. SAVS has been guided by four pillars since its inception in 1994: patient care, teamwork, education, and excellence.

Preventative care, surgery, dental, laboratory diagnostics, x-rays, and ultrasound are just a few of the small animal services we offer. Preventative care, emergency treatments, chiropractic care, surgery, sophisticated dentistry, in-house laboratory tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, and lameness exams are just a few of the large animal services available.
