Through in-house testing and the utilization of other laboratories, we offer a wide range of diagnostic procedures. When unique diagnostic techniques are required, we collaborate closely with local practitioners. A well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery room, in-house x-ray facilities, a tightly supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor roaming areas are all available at the facility. At Sonoma Veterinary Clinic, we endeavor to provide not only accurate advice, but also the best possible veterinary treatment, allowing you to enjoy your pet for as long as possible. It is not only our job to treat your pet when he or she is ill, but it is also our mission to teach you how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.

Valley of the Moon Veterinary Hospital was founded in 2012 by three experienced professionals who shared a common goal: to provide quality, compassionate care to Sonoma's dog and cat companion animals while collaborating with you, their guardians, to develop wellness and treatment plans that honor your special bond as well as your budget. We want taking care of your dogs to be a true team effort. We understand that no one knows your pet better than you. That's why every member of our team, including our doctors, is dedicated to giving you with all of the facts and options you need to make informed medical decisions.

We outgrown our existing location since Napa River Pet Hospital has been such a success. We believed it was necessary to expand to a new building in order to maintain our high level of service. We've built a fresh new, state-of-the-art building with a capacity of 2000 square feet to continue our aim of "Quality Medicine, Individualized Pet Care."

"Peter and Karen Morse founded SVH in 1979 as a non-profit organization. It received AAHA accreditation soon after and has kept it for the past 40 years. Through dedicated service to our community and strong word-of-mouth support, we have expanded slowly and organically."

After graduating from Cornell Veterinary School in 1927, Dr. Walter E Brandner relocated to Petaluma and founded an animal hospital in the Rex Hardware building on the corner of Fourth and B Streets, as well as taking over the leadership of the Petaluma Laboratories, which had been established in 1923. The Petaluma Laboratories were relocated out of town in 1931, and the new Brandner Laboratory and Hospital was established in the same location. In 1949, Dr. Brandner contacted San Francisco architect Mario Corbett, who also constructed the Hope Lutheran Church in Daly City, to create the drawings for the structure at Second and D Streets. A laboratory, retail sales rooms, and boarding facilities for up to 50 dogs were all part of the original veterinary facility.
