During those early years, he worked out of a number of well-known veterinary clinics in San Francisco and Marin counties. Sams Clinic, a completely remodeled space to fulfill Dr. Sams vision, opened its doors in 2004. The goal has always been to deliver cutting-edge veterinary medicine with a focus on minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment. San Francisco Pet Hospital, which is thought to be Northern California's oldest veterinary hospital, was opened in 1905, a year before the 1906 Earthquake. The hospital used to treat many kinds of animals, from carriage horses to dairy cows, but now it only treats the dogs and cats we call family.Our more recent history begins with Dr. Lee Morris, who bought the hospital in 1979 and reopened it in 1981 after a two-year renovation. Dr. Morris sold the facility to Dr. Bobby Leyba, his associate veterinarian of 16 years, in 2019, after a long and successful career.
