MMCC is a non-profit hospital that treats sick, injured, and malnourished marine mammals who ashore on the 70+ miles of beaches between Malibu and Seal Beach. Since 1992, MMCC has offered life-saving care to marine animals in distress, with the objective of rehabilitating and returning them to their natural habitat.
MMCC is one of the busiest marine animal hospitals in the country, admitting over 350 patients each year as the only year-round facility in Los Angeles County.
The Los Angeles Unified School District owns the land where MMCC is located in San Pedro, near the Port of Los Angeles.
