"Our animal hospital was founded in the fall of 1996 by a group of local veterinarians who wanted to provide 24-hour weekend coverage for their clients' beloved pets. It has since expanded into a seven-day a week clinic offering high quality emergency care for companion animals and exotic pets in the Tri-Cities. As an Emerge Care Facility, Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency Service, PS is AAHA accredited.

The Columbia Basin's mainstay for more than 55 years, Highlands Veterinary Clinic was founded and run by Dr. Ivor Evans in 1956 and later renamed Vista Veterinary Hospital. In 1981, the business was renamed Vista Veterinary Hospital, and in 1996, it underwent renovation and grew to 8,000 square feet. In 2001, Dr. Kathy Batdorf joined as an associate veterinarian, and in 2007, Dr. Matt Stidham joined the team. Dr. Geoffrey Goebel and Dr. Michelle Meyer both joined the clinic in 2017. Dr. Michelle Bouchey started working there in 2020. Since 1959, Vista Veterinary Hospital has proudly held the AAHA® (American Animal Hospital Association) accreditation, a distinction that only 14% of small animal clinics can claim. designation as a hospital in the best category
