He worked full time as an Associate Veterinarian in Fremont for four years prior to opening Tama Veterinary Hospital, working both normal and emergency shifts. He gained additional knowledge and skills in advanced diagnostic techniques, internal medicine, soft tissue, laparoscopic surgery, and imaging, including ultrasound/fluoroscopy/CT Scan, as a Manager of Veterinary Clinical Services/Site Veterinarian in a highly specialized laboratory in Mountain View Lychron LLC(Presently Surpass LLC) California. After completing multiple hands-on courses at the Western Veterinary Academy in Las Vegas, NV, he has also become adept in ultrasonographic, Orthopedic Techniques in Bone Repair, and TPLO and other Stifle Surgeries. He has also taught and graduated a large number of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students.

In 1960, the company was founded. Since 1990, Santa Clara Pet Hospital has been in its current site. Since 1995, Kent Littlehale, DVM, has served as the company's owner and medical director. Jennifer Lawrence has been a part of the practice since 1996. In 2012, Steven Piert, DVM, joined the practice. Many of our employees have been with the hospital for more than 15 years and take satisfaction in their knowledge of how to care for our long-term patients and clients.
