For more than 55 years, Audubon Animal Hospital has provided devoted pets in the Louisville region with veterinary care. Dr. James R. Grace inaugurated the initial hospital on Crittenden Drive in 1959. (known by his long term clients as Dr. Bob). Dr. Bob was born and raised in the Schnitzelberg neighborhood, attended St. Xavier High School, the Universities of Louisville and Kentucky, and Auburn University, where he earned his veterinary degree. He started the business because he wanted to work in the area where he grew up.

Dr. Henry Fairleigh first established our animal hospital in the early 1980s under the name Affordable Animal Hospital. It was one of Fairco, Inc.'s four clinics. The name was changed to Fairleigh Pet Center-Preston in the late 1980s. Dr. Caryl Kline began working there in 1989. Preston Animal Hospital is the new name for the clinic that she bought in November 1994.
We started working with Heartland Veterinary Partners in December 2019. Many of our customers have been with us since the beginning. Our staff enjoys welcoming new patients to our practice. We anticipate continuing to serve our clients' dogs for many more years!
