Island Paws Veterinary Hospital is conveniently located at milepost 81.5 on the Oceanside in the middle of Islamorada, and is locally owned and operated. Our practice has a welcoming atmosphere, and we attempt to provide customized care by tailoring our advice and treatments to your pet's specific needs.

Since 2010, our veterinary clinic has happily served Key Largo, FL, encompassing Islamorada, Tavernier, and Ocean Reef. Our facility is an AAHA-accredited, Designated Cat Friendly Practice, and our team members are Fear Free Certified Professionals, so we never cut corners when it comes to providing the best medical care and customer service.

Dr. Geoff Bailey earned his bachelor's degree in Zoology and Marine Biology from the University of Hawaii in 1996. In 2001, he received his DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He relocated to the Florida Keys after two years in New York, practicing for a few years in Key West before settling down at Animal Care Clinic in Key Largo. Before taking over the clinic in 2007, he worked here with Dr. Fred Peacock.Dr. Bailey has worked with a variety of creatures, including dolphins, whales, elephants, and tigers, and is always up for a new challenge. He lives with three dogs and a cat and enjoys spending his free time with them.

We are the largest veterinary hospital in the Florida Keys, and we treat a wide range of animals. We are an Exotics and Internal Medicine referral hospital with numerous qualified surgeons on staff. All of our doctors volunteer numerous hours to help and treat wildlife in our community.

For the first time in 1968, Keys Animal Hospital opened its doors in Marathon, FL, delivering professional veterinarian, housing, and dentistry services to the neighborhood. We had a responsibility to offer the best care possible to our patients as the area's first free-standing veterinary clinic in over a 100-mile radius in the 1970s. Our mission and commitment to keep that promise haven't altered in over 50 years. Since then, our staff has updated and expanded the practice while being a community pillar, safeguarding and caring for your four-legged family members. The Turtle Hospital was founded in 1986 with four main objectives: 1) to rehabilitate injured sea turtles and return them to their natural habitat, 2) to educate the public through outreach programs and visits to local schools, 3) to conduct and assist with sea turtle research (in collaboration with state universities), and 4) to work toward environmental legislation that makes beaches and water safe and clean for sea turtles. Hidden Harbor Marine Environmental Project, Inc., which runs the Turtle Hospital, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Hidden Harbor Motel provides the necessary space and structures for the sea turtles to be housed and cared for.
